Amanda Price is wealthy and suicidal and her brother Edward likes things that way. Unfortunately for Edward, however, Amanda seems to kind of suck at actually completing the deed.

Sometimes even suicide takes a little know-how.

You see, Edward wants Amanda's inheritance and the only way for him to get to it is if something happens to Amanda. So, as any loving brother would do in that situation, he goes to a bar and hires his ex-con waitress to provide his sister with the proper care that she needs. What follows are twists, turns, deceit and antiques.

Don't be sad, little fella.

A solid gothic potboiler, Die Sister, Die!'s moody atmosphere and creaky mansion walls work best by candlelight somewhere in the 3-6am time slot. Pills optional.

Die Sister, Die! is available on DVD in a remastered widescreen edition as part of Scorpion Releasing's Katarina's Nightmare Theater series (as a double-feature with Roberta Findlay's 1988 film Lurkers), as well as on many a bargain bin disc. It can also be watched here on Youtube.

Also, for those interested, it should be mentioned that a remake of the film (starring scream-queen favorite Brinke Stevens) was released last year. I've yet to see it but it looks terrible. You've been warned.
